Make your own ceramics using the Potters Wheel!
Have you been longing to use the potters wheel without committing to 6 or 8 weeks of classes?
Well, Claytime has a one-time guided introductory class. In this guided forty-five minute session, you will learn to center a piece of clay, open it, and work on the walls to form a basic bowl. Your piece will air dry over a few days, then be fired in a kiln at 2000 degrees. It then turns into a white ceramic unpainted Bowl.
At this point we call you to come paint it. After which we glaze and fire it, one last time, for you to take home and use.
The cost from beginning to end is $60 per person.

Prepayment and reservation is required as wheel classes fill up fast.
We have 6 wheels and can teach 6 people at the same time.
It’s a cool activity for family members, friends, couples or friends!
BEGINNER CLASSES:
1. Basic Wheel Class
If you've never used the wheel before a basic bowl class will introduce you to centering, defining depth, width, and pulling up the walls. This is a guided class in which you go through each stage within a 45 minute time span to form a basic bowl. After the bowl air dries for days it will be fired in a kiln at 2000 degrees at which point we invite you to come paint it and then it gets one final glazing and firing before you take it home and eat and drink out of it.
2. After The Basic Wheel Class
Itching to get deeper into creating on the wheel. Your next class beyond the basic is Bowl Making II in which you learn techniques on how to form a larger bowl and accenting the bowl rim. In these next few classes, you can sign up for the package of 4 classes at a price of $200, which, with membership, gets you 25% off. This price includes not only the guided class on electric wheels, but also the 2nd firing, painting and glazing that occur the following week.
Classes are currently offered by appointment only. Masks are required.
We have 6 wheels and can teach 6 people at a time in a guided class taught by Caroline. Please be aware these classes require the student to come back the next day to learn the trimming section of the class. This can be done the day of the class by scheduling a time to trim your piece the next day.
